This evening’s walk will encompass Colonel Edward Asbury O’Neal’s Alabama brigade during the afternoon of July 1, 1863. Where exactly was this brigade during the first day? Was it on Oak Hill or on the eastern slope of Oak Hill? We will examine this and a few other interesting aspects of the brigade’s actions. We will walk about a mile or maybe a little more. We will go down in the valley and back up the slope of Oak Hill. Good shoes are highly recommended.
