Kavin L. Coughenour

Kavin Coughenour, Colonel, US Army, Retired and Licensed Battlefield Guide was a ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate and received a Regular Army commission as Second Lieutenant on May 25, 1969. He subsequently served in the Infantry (1969-1972), the Adjutant General’s Corps (1973-1987), and Special Forces (1987-1995). His Army career included a blend of command, general staff, and combat duty in the United States and overseas. Prior to his retirement from the Army Kavin was Deputy Commander of the United States Army Center of Military History in Washington, DC. Kavin became a Guide at Gettysburg in 1995 and received Badge #118. He participated in Seminar programs and led many leadership programs and was generous in sharing his vast knowledge of the battle with his fellow Guides. He was a true professional and will be missed.
