Randy Irvin Cleaver, 66, passed away on Feb. 3, 2026, at Chelsea Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Goochland, Va
He was born Feb. 6, 1959, the son of Irvin S. and Sara (Bloom) Cleaver. A graduate of Indiana University, Randy worked as a LBG and a seasonal NPS Ranger at GNMP in the 1990s before becoming a full time Ranger for the National Park Service. He shared his vast knowledge of the civil war with thousands of visitors at battlefields throughout his career. He was always reading and researching the Civil War. He served with the US Army attaining the rank of Captain.
He is survived by a brother, Dave Cleaver and wife Deann of Louisa, Va.; nephew, Jesse and his wife Jessica and their three children Cole, Ava and Ty; and niece, Heidi Cleaver of Louisa, Va. Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
Interred at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.
