Sheldon Munn LBG # Unknown

Sheldon A. Munn July 14, 1939 – October 23, 2018  – Sheldon A. Munn, 79, of New Cumberland, passed way Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital. He was born July 14, 1939, in Plymouth, N.H., a son of the late LaVerne and Dorothy (Baird) Munn. Sheldon was the retired owner and operator of Munn’s Diamond Gallery, Lemoyne. He was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland; Gettysburg Licensed Battlefield Guide Assoc.; Past President and Paul Harris Fellow, West Shore Rotary Club and Harrisburg; past president of Harrisburg Civil War Round Table; Dauphin County Historical Society; Cumberland County Historical Society; Camp Curtin Historical Society; Christian Business Men’s Committee; and Lafayette Lodge No 194, F&AM. He created the Friend to Friend Masonic Memorial in the Gettysburg National Military Park Cemetery and authored “Freemasons at Gettysburg.” He is survived by his wife, Carolee (Congdon) Munn; one son, Christopher (Marilyn) of Camp Hill; four daughters, Elaine Munn-Short (Barry) of Boise, Idaho, Bonnie Heintzelman (Roger) of Danville, Karen Gallagher (Joseph) of Lewisburg, and Lorianne Swidler (Bradley) of Camp Hill; one brother, Brady Munn of East Quogue, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle; one sister, Norma Mark; and one brother Winston. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct.30, at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Theresa Catholic Church, New Cumberland. Committal will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery, Lower Allen Township In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge St., New Cumberland, PA 17070.

Note: Sheldon was licensed in 1990 and guided sporadically before the press of business forced him to give up his license.  He tried to relicense in 2006 and 2008 and was not able to.
